I still have my MGS2 Subsistance around and I actually played it a couple of months ago. The only way to have it running on Windows 7 is to HACK the executable (!) into thinking that you have a different graphics card. And you still can't max the shadows or else you'll get incorrect rendering. That's your Konami port right there and that's why it sold like crap. I think it got rated so high because it introduced a bunch of new cool things to the series and had way better graphics than MGS1 and everything. However, all of the MGS games are some of the highest rated games to ever exist, so all of them are technically fantastic.
